Roles and Responsibilities
Our mission, is to identify and create and deliver new digital vehicle-related services, from an end-to-end perspective (meaning cross-functionally), by capitalizing on digitalization and the knowhow of the Volvo Group.
A directional target, is that we by 2027, have established a “Service machinery” for vehicle-related services, leading 1/3 of all Service initiatives, and are recognized as the "applied service innovation center" within Group Trucks.
We are a fairly new organization, and by finding a person passionate about customer business and services for this position: Service Entrepreneur, we take the next tangible step on a very exciting and challenging journey.
Your key responsibilities will be:
In this role, you will be shaping and leading the area of applied service design, with the mission to:
- Support our Brands and Customers, by co-creating fantastic digital and connected services
- Accelerate our adoption of, and proficiency in, our Customer Service Process “CuSP”.
- Lead by example (teach by doing), as well as to guide colleagues (who will learn by doing), in how to successfully identify, develop and deliver customer services by applied Service Design
- Exploit the unique advantages of the Volvo group (including our in-vehicle platforms), and combine this with customer centric solutions, and the strength of open platforms (such as Android), to bring out digital and connected solutions that make a difference for our customers
- Ensure that our solutions truly support the flow of value, and takes the End-to-End view;
- “it does not work until a paying customer is happily using it.”
You will be part of Vehicle Technology, and more specifically, the Services organization, and be part of the Services Leadership Team and report to the Director of Services.
How to succeed
To succeed in this position, a solid foundation in the transport industry in general, and operations in particular, is a good start, and a knack for gaining insights into customers’ needs and processes, and a proven ability to translate this into solid actions will be the next building block.
On top of this, you will probably bring your passion for at least one of the following topics: change management, service design, teaching, leading and coaching others or lean methods applied to logistic flows.
By applied service design, we want to go beyond being skilled in the facilitation of Design Thinking, by ”thinking big but start small”, meaning combining highly professional business research into insights, alongside the skill to not only listen and observe what customers express, but to discern what is relevant for us, and conclude what is good enough to act on, and what needs further validation, and how to do it.
If you combine the above, with a Mindset of: ”how can I validate my value proposition?”, and then moving heaven and earth to see it done, your success is very close to assured .
